21 rules of the house, rule #1—– We obey the Lord Jesus Christ
Health and Manners- Table Setting, used charts to practice setting the table, and tonight they have a responsibility to set the table for dinner, using their charts. We read pages 58-59 of Health, Safety, and Manners Reader 1 and checked off ” using proper table manners” in their little keepers of the home and little contenders of the faith notebooks.
Scriptures– 2 Nephi Chapter 4 Verses15-21. Dylan read them from his book of mormon reader, and we discussed page 53 in our book of mormon family study book. We also discussed Psalms, and how we are reading Nephis Psalm, and at bedtime we have been reading the Psalms from the Bible. We talked about how the Psalms are alot like a song or hymn of praise, etc. We each named our favorite hymn and we are looking forward to continuing to read the Psalms tonight at bedtime.
Copywork- Dylan wrote ” Home can be a heaven on earth.” this is what he has been doing for the past week. We will begin a new copywork tomorrow.
Dylan Spelling– Bob Jones University, Spelling unit 4, day 4, He wrote in his journal about the colors of fall and how he likes the orange leaves the best, then he wrote each of his spelling words out.
Science– Sydney did Abeka 1st grade pages 14-15, my eyes. Dylan did pages 6-7 review in his new third grade abeka science book and completed all of the memory questions perfectly!
History– Dylan and Sydney worked on Abeka History 1- Pages 19-20 on the Statue of LIberty, a symbol of our country. They did the question perfectly!
Piano– Dylan practiced his two songs, using the metronome and he also practiced his scales using both left and right hands.
Theme work– This afternoon we will be reading from our theme tub from the library, folktales and fairytales. Fun!
Right now, the girls are playing quietly in their rooms and Dylan is playing not so quietly in the playroom, building something out of wood and nails. He wants to be a builder when he grows up He loves it.
Jaelle I think its really a neat thing that you write a record of your homeschooling activities, and I esp love how you incorporate gospel study into the kids’ day. You go girl, you are such an awesome mom.
